DEPOT PARK MUSEUM in SONOMA
And a special thanks for the Depot Park Museum in Sonoma for use of some wonderful archival photos we used in tonight's show.

Located at 270 First St. West, in Sonoma, just north of the historic Plaza, the Depot Park Museum is dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of Sonoma Valley history. The museum serves the community of Sonoma as a resource for history archives, as well as a visitor center specializing in a railroad room, caboose, Bear Flag Republic story and pioneer history. The museum is staff and operated by volunteers of the Sonoma Valley Historical Society and a curator.

Visitors to the Depot Park Museum total over 3,000 per year and come from all over the world. Volunteer docents describe the displays and answer questions about the history of Sonoma. School tours are also conducted by appointment. The fourth grade curriculum includes the study of California history and many of fourth graders who visit the city each year see the exhibits at the Depot Park Museum.

Another rapidly growing service of the Historical Society and the Museum is that of providing historical and genealogical information for the public and for the professionals who now are required to make a study of the historical and archaeological past of buildings and properties. Additionally, there is a great amount of interest in including historical information and photographs in advertisements for businesses in the community. It is open from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

For further information or to arrange an appointment, call (707) 938-1762 or visit: www.vom.com/depot
