Hybrid Car Sales Decline In Down Economy

A year ago, when gas was over $4 a gallon, hybrid cars were zooming out of dealer lots and had long waiting lists. But sales are slumping, along with the rest of the auto industry.
15,000 hybrid cars sold nationwide in February compared to about 40,000 at the peak of sales last April. To combat the decline, some dealerships are now offering cash and other financing incentives to get the environmentally-friendly cars off dealer lots again.
