Kid Rock Arrested After Fight

ATLANTA (CBS) ― Musician Kid Rock spent most of his Sunday at the DeKalb County, Georgia police department.

Police say Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, was arrested in DeKalb County, Georgia early Sunday morning after police say he and he his entourage were involved in a fight with a customer at a Waffle House.

Ritchie, was finishing a meal at the Waffle House when a customer recognized a woman in his entourage and began exchanging words with her.

The argument turned into a physical altercation between the rocker and the restaurant patron, Harlem DeJon Akins.

Members of Kid Rock's entourage jumped in and the fight spilled into the parking lot.

When police arrived on the scene Kid Rock's tour bus was leaving the scene. Police pulled the bus over and took Ritchie and the four other men into custody.

Each man was charged with misdemeanor battery. Arrested along with Kid Rock were George P. Vourvoulias, James W. Murphy, Brian O. Lang, Jason E. Krause, and Aaron Julison.

Akins suffered minor cuts and bruises in the fight and was charged with criminal damage to property, after he punched and broke a window at the restaurant.

Ritchie was released Sunday evening after posting a one thousand dollar bond. He stopped to sign autographs for a group of waiting fans.

Ritchie, was in Atlanta for a show at the Tabernacle Saturday night.
