Katie Couric: CBS Evening News Anchor Turns Singer
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
Who knew? Not only does she deliver the news... she sings too!
It appears CBS Evening News Anchor Katie Couric is quite a performer.
Couric took the stage Monday evening with Bette Midler in the Big Apple during the New York Restoration Project's "Flower Power" fundraiser, which raised a million dollars for community gardens.
Couric and Midler belted out "Aquarius" from "Hair" and were warmly received. Couric held her own while singing the duet with the "Divine Miss M."
Midler's New York Restoration Project carries out her dream of a cleaner, more beautiful New York. It revitalizes, restores and develops parks, community gardens and open space.
Tony Bennett, Bradley Whitford, Kristin Chenoweth, James Snyder and others from the entertainment industry also walked the red carpet and enjoyed the music.
Monday's event also celebrated the project's 35th anniversary of the first community garden in NYC.
