CBS Adds 4 New Shows This Fall

NEW YORK (CBS) ― The CBS fall primetime line-up includes more returning shows than any other network. A new comedy and three new dramas join the schedule in September: "The Class," "Smith," "Shark" and "Jericho."

The Class

Monday at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT; 7:00 p.m. CT

Marking his first television project since the end of his benchmark comedy "Friends," Emmy-winning writer-producer David Crane teams with writer-producer Jeffrey Klarik (Mad About You) for THE CLASS, which explores the lives of a group of twenty-somethings from the same third-grade class brought back together for a surprise reunion after 20 years.

The classmates get a glimpse of the different paths their lives have taken and have the opportunity to see themselves all grown up - whether they want to be or not. As he did with Cheers and Friends, comedy veteran James Burrows directs a collection of funny stars-in-the-making for a new comedy about life's what-ifs.

Jericho

Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, 7:00 p.m. CT

Things are quiet and peaceful in small-town Jericho, Kansas, but when a baffling explosion occurs in the distance, Jericho's residents are plunged into social, psychological and physical chaos. No one knows what to think, and fear of the unknown takes over the town, especially because its isolation cuts it off from outside help. When nearly everything they know seems gone, will the residents of JERICHO band together to face their unfamiliar and mysterious new world? Skeet Ulrich ("Scream," "As Good as It Gets") stars.

Shark

Thursday at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, 9:00 p.m. CT

Multiple Oscar nominee James Woods comes to series television in SHARK, a legal drama from Oscar-winning Brian Grazer ("A Beautiful Mind," "24"). Woods plays the charismatic, supremely self-confident attorney Sebastian Stark, who brings his cutthroat style to the Los Angeles DA's high-profile crime unit after years spent cutting a wide swath as a defense attorney. Leading a team of new young lawyers, this shark now preys on the notorious among the city's rich and powerful. Oscar nominee Spike Lee directs the pilot.

Smith

Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, 9:00 p.m. CT

From the prolific producer John Wells ("ER," "The West Wing") comes the fast-paced drama SMITH, which tracks a diverse crew of career criminals as they plot and carry out high-stakes heists at prominent locations around the country. Ray Liotta ("Goodfellas") stars as the team's no-nonsense leader, looking for that one elusive big haul before going straight - or at least that's what he tells his wife ("Sideways" Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen). He's walking a tightrope between his present life and the new one they hope is on the horizon.
