Lavigne Needs New Skater Boy, Ends Her Marriage

Avril Lavigne confirms on her blog that she is splitting from her husband of three years, Canadian rocker Deryck Whibley.
According to US Magazine, Whibley is "crushed" by the ending of their relationship.
The couple has reportedly been on the skids for many months. They were infrequently photographed together and both spent time on opposite ends of the country. She was often seen out partying with friends.
Lavigne reportedly asked Whibley, who fronts the band Sum 41, to move out of the three-story, 12,000+ share foot $9.5 million mansion they formerly shared in tony Bel Air. Lavigne bought the eight bedroom, 10 bathroom house in 2007.
Of her soon-to-be ex, Lavigne wrote, "Deryck and I have been together for 6 and a half years. We have been friends since I was 17. I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart."
Whibley echoed a similar note on his MySpace page. "Our decision to part ways is amicable and she holds a special place in my heart and forever will be a great and amazing friend."
