San Mateo Schools Drop Letter Grades

SAN MATEO (CBS 5) ― Schools in the San Mateo-Foster City School District joined several others in the Bay Area in getting rid of letter grades.

The new system is all about getting students on track to pass the High School Exit Exam. It uses a scale of 1-4, with 3 meaning they are up to standards. But 600 parents have signed a petition to return back to traditional grades.
