East Bay School Lockdown Lifted After Bank Robbery

WALNUT CREEK (BCN) ― A lockdown at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek was lifted and the students were allowed to go home Thursday afternoon, according to the school district.

The lockdown was prompted by a report of a bank robbery at 1:37 p.m. at the Washington Mutual bank branch at 1390 S. Main St.

The school is on the same block at 1460 S. Main St.

According to police, the school decided to go on voluntary lockdown as a precaution.
