CSU System Overloaded With Applications

SAN JOSE (CBS 5) ― For college-bound high school seniors, this is no time to be undecided. Students across California are stressing out because the California State University system is swamped with applications.

The number of applicants for Fall 2009 are already up 21 percent and campuses are capping enrollments.

San Jose State University has moved up its application deadline from next spring to November. SJSU has planned to limit next year's freshman class to 6,000 students because the campus is already at record enrollment and the state budget has not kept pace.
