One of San Francisco's largest reservoirs could be in serious jeopardy when the next big earthquake hits. But the city is now doing something about it.
A major retrofit project is underway at the University Mound Reservoir in the Portola District. Crews are retrofitting the roof and several support columns to make the reservoir, which is the size of Candlestick Park, withstand the next big quake. The University Mound Reservoir serves Downtown and eastern parts of San Francisco.
