Your Loma Prieta Earthquake Stories

Many people have been writing to share their stories about the Loma Prieta earthquake on October 17, 1989.
At CBS 5, we have many colleagues who were working in the newsroom then, and are still working here today. Reporter
Kate Kelly remembers pulling up the station just after the quake:
"Our
building was evacuating out of the side stairwells and we could see everyone out of the sales department moving out. People were all moving out except for the newsroom. You saw all the news people who were driving in going up the stairs, saying "Move aside!" and going all the way up to the newsroom. I can remember going up against the stream trying to get into the newsroom."
