A car chase for the suspect wanted in a Sunnyvale double homicide ended Wednesday night with the apparent suicide of the suspect on a San Bruno highway.
The suspect -- 29-year-old Matthew Andrew O'Reilly, 29, of San Mateowas being sought for allegedly killing two acquaintances, Benjamin Osegura, 31, of Menlo Park and Jason Gamino, 29, of San Mateo, in a shooting Sunday night outside a strip club in Sunnyvale.
San Mateo County and California Highway Patrol officials began pursuing a known murder suspect in a black Range Rover around 6 p.m. on northbound U.S. 101, according to CHP Officer Herman Quon.
The chase continued onto westbound Interstate 380 where the vehicle crashed into the center divide at El Camino Real, Quon said.

The incident shut down all traffic on Interstate 380 until around 8:30 p.m.
