More Car Fires Set In Richmond

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

RICHMOND (BCN) ― Police in Richmond are investigating two overnight vehicle fires that appear to have been deliberately set, a police lieutenant said.

The first occurred at a home in the 600 block of 12th Street at around 11:45 p.m., Richmond police Lt. Mike Gormley said. A 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was burned.

The second fire was reported in a driveway in the 4300 block of Center Avenue at around 1:40 a.m., Gormley said. A 1990 Mitsubishi burned in an apparent arson.

Arson task force investigators will attempt to determine if these most recent fires are connected to as many as 20 others reported in Contra Costa County this month.
