San Francisco police detectives continued Monday to investigate two separate weekend shootings that left four men dead, as the number of homicides reported this year in the city has swelled to 27.
Police had not yet made any arrests in connection with those killings, SFPD Sgt. Neville Gittens said.
Jason de la Cruz, 31, of Daly City, and Derek Butch, 23, of San Francisco were killed in a double shooting a little after 2 a.m. Saturday outside a pizza restaurant in the city's Sunset neighborhood.
Police said the two men were shot after a dispute over pizza inside the restaurant 1833 Irving Street near 19th Avenue.
Police described the suspect in that shooting as an Asian man in his early 20s with a thin build, and short dark hair that is spiky in the front. He was last seen wearing a black and orange San Francisco Giants jacket and blue jeans, according to police.
The suspect's vehicle was described as a mid-90s dark blue two-door car, either an Acura Integra or a Honda Civic.
About 45 minutes earlier on Saturday morning, two men were fatally shot in the head while sitting in a parked car in the city's Excelsior district.
Ernad Joldic, 21, of Daly City, was pronounced dead at the scene at Excelsior Avenue and Athens Street.
The second victim, a 24-year-old San Francisco man, died later at San Francisco General Hospital. His name was not being publicly released as the medical examiner's office was still trying to locate his family.
Investigators said the suspect in that shooting was a man, believed to be in his 20s, who walked up to the car and opened fire on the pair.
SFPD asked that anyone with information about either of the deadly shootings call the police tip line at (415) 575-4444.
