5 Oakland Men Indicted In Cocaine Conspiracy

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch
OAKLAND (BCN) ― Federal prosecutors in San Francisco announced Friday that five Oakland men have been indicted on charges of conspiring to sell cocaine.

U.S. Attorney Joseph Russoniello said the indictment was issued under seal by a federal grand jury in San Francisco on Oct. 13 and was unsealed Thursday when three of the defendants made an initial appearance before a U.S. magistrate.

Those three, who were arrested in Oakland on Wednesday, are Mauricio Aguilera, Leonardo Rico and Jose Cisneros.

Two other defendants, Eduardo Rodriguez and Jorge Sanchez, are fugitives.

The indictment alleges the cocaine conspiracy operated between October 2007 and March 2009.

Rodriguez is also accused of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and he and Aguilera are charged with possessing methamphetamine with intent to sell it.

Sanchez was also charged in a separate indictment with conspiring to sell and selling counterfeit immigration and identification documents.

Russoniello said officers from the Oakland, Alameda and San Leandro police departments aided federal agents in carrying out arrest warrants and search warrants at seven Oakland residences on Wednesday.
