Slain Novato Man Witness To San Francisco Robbery
NOVATO (BCN) ―
A Novato man found shot dead inside his home over the weekend was the victim of a recent armed robbery at the San Francisco market he owned, according to the San Francisco District Attorney's office.
Tong Van Le, 44, was found shot inside his Lexus inside the garage of his Pizarro Avenue home at about 10:40 p.m. Saturday.
Novato police did not elaborate on a possible motive for the crime, but Le was a witness in a case San Francisco prosecutors have filed against robbery suspect Larry Blay, District Attorney's office spokeswoman Erica Derryck said Wednesday.
Blay has been charged by San Francisco prosecutors with second-degree robbery and burglary, as well as firearms allegations for a recent armed robbery of the Nassar Market at 511 Crescent Ave., which Le owned, Derryck said.
The case was still being investigated, and Derryck could not confirm whether it was suspected Le's shooting was connected to his possible testimony in the robbery case.
