San Francisco police were looking for suspects in yet another shooting in the along the border of the city's troubled Mission District and Potrero Hill neighborhoods.
Investigators said two people were shot inside a vehicle around 9:15 p.m. Saturday at 23rd and Arkansas Streets.
The victims drove to the hospital and were listed in stable condition.
At this point, there was no word of any possible motive for the shooting and no suspects were arrested.
The Mission District has been plagued by wave of gang related shootings in the past few weeks, but despite this recent trend, Mayor Gavin Newsom said violent crime is down and so is the city's homicide rate this year.
This latest shooting occured after police increased patrols in the Mission aimed at reducing the violence.
"All of the law enforcement in the world is not going to create a peaceful environment," said Newsom. "I don't want to get into the details of these investigations, but you got folks from all over the Bay Area who happen to be in San Francisco doing things that they shouldn't be doing."
There were two other weekend shootings in the city this weekend. A man was wounded at 23rd and Treat in the Mission District early Saturday and another man was killed at McAllister and Fillmore streets in the Western Addition on Friday night.
