Millbrae Teacher Plea Deal In Peeping, Porn Case
REDWOOD CITY (AP) ―
A former Millbrae teacher will serve no more than two years in prison after he accepted a plea deal over charges he videotaped girls in the school bathroom.
David Lista, who taught English for 10 years at Mills High School, pleaded no contest Thursday to two felony counts related to drug and child porn possession, as well as two misdemeanor counts of improper peeping.
Authorities arrested Lista in March after the school found 15 to 20 images on his computer of female students in the bathroom. Lista allegedly installed a pinhole camera in the ceiling above the bathroom stalls, and another one in his classroom to film students under their desks.
Investigators later found unrelated child porn on his home computer.
Prosecutors say they agreed to the deal to spare victims from having to testify at trial. Lista also must register as a sex offender.
He's set to be sentenced on Oct. 30.
