Clerk Killed In Suisun City MetroPCS Robbery
SUISUN CITY (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ―
The Solano County coroner's office has identified 20-year-old Diego Armando Navarro Martinez of Fairfield as the MetroPCS employee who was fatally shot during a robbery at the Suisun City business Thursday afternoon.
Martinez was shot once in the chest around 5:10 p.m. An autopsy Friday morning determined he died of a single gunshot wound, the coroner's office said.
A Fairfield police officer shot and arrested a suspect who fled the MetroPCS store at 106 Sunset Ave. in a green van. He was taken to the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. His name has not been released.
Fairfield Police Lt. Randy Boggs says the suspect was shot after a Fairfield police officer spotted a green van that that matched a description of a vehicle leaving the scene around 5:15 p.m. Thursday.
The suspect is being treated for injuries that police say are not life threatening.
Police have not released the name of victim shot in the store, or of the suspect.
