San Rafael Kidnapping & Robbery Suspect Surrenders
SAN RAFAEL (BCN) ―
One of two suspects in the Christmas Eve kidnapping and robbery at a San Rafael massage parlor has surrendered to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, San Rafael police said Wednesday.
Douglas Patterson, 31, of Hayward, surrendered Tuesday afternoon, San Rafael police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said.
He was booked under $70,000 bail in the Santa Clara County jail for robbery and kidnapping and is expected to be returned to Marin County by the end of the week, Rohrbacher said.
Police identified the second suspect as Joseph Jerome Flowers, 37, an East Bay resident. He is wanted for kidnapping and robbery, and is a wanted parolee-at-large, Rohrbacher said.
Flowers also is known as Kedah Zahir, Joseph Ours, Jerome Mason and Joseph Mays and is considered armed and dangerous, Rohrbacher said. He has a history of violence and may be driving a white Chevrolet Cobalt, Rohrbacher said.
Police responded to the New Day Health Center massage parlor at 4140 Redwood Highway at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 24. Two men entered the business, showed a handgun and demanded cash from three female employees.
The suspects forcibly removed one of the employees at gunpoint and took her with them as they fled the scene in a Honda Element, police said. The 37-year-old woman was dropped off unharmed an hour later in Port Richmond where the car was last seen.
