An Oakland man was arrested for shooting at two Fishmerman's Wharf restaurant workers who were chasing after him for not paying his bill, San Francisco police said Monday.
According to police, a group of four people were eating at Joe's Crab Shack at 245 Jefferson Street around 10 p.m. on Sunday. Two women in the group got up and left, followed shortly by the man and a 17-year old male. All left without paying.
The SFPD said two female servers followed the two males for several blocks before confronting them in the 600 block of Bay Street. That is when police said 36-year-old Marcel Waldron allegedly turned around, brandished a gun, and shot at the workers.
One of the workers was grazed in the head by a bullet. The victim's condition was not immediately available, however SFPD Sgt. Steve Mannina said her injuries were not life threatening.
Following the shots, Waldron and the teen fled and the restaurant employees called 911, police said.
Police located the pair in the area of North Point and Larkin streets and both suspects allegedly ran.
When officers caught up with Waldron in the 600 block of Bay Street, he allegedly reached into his waistband and removed his handgun in a threatening manner before surrendering, Mannina said.
The juvenile was arrested back around the intersection of North Point and Larkin. The teen wasn't being identified by police because of his age.
Waldron was booked on charges including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, drawing a weapon in a threatening manner on a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon and delaying arrest. The teen was charged with resisting arrest.
Police were still looking Monday for the two women who accompanied Waldron and the teenage male. Authorities asked that anyone with information about the women call the San Francisco Police Department General Work Section at (415) 553-1141.
