Father Killed, Son Injured In Richmond Shooting
A North Richmond man is dead and his adult son seriously injured after the pair were shot in front of a home early Saturday morning, according to the Contra Costa County sheriff's office.
At about 1:25 a.m., the sheriff's office received a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of First Street in the North Richmond area of Contra Costa County, according to spokesman Jimmy Lee. Sheriff's deputies found a 59-year-old man and his son, 29, had been shot in front of a home.
The father was pronounced dead at the scene. His son was transferred to a nearby hospital, then airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, according to Lee.
Sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter and searched the area, but did not locate any suspects, Lee said. Detectives are investigating the motives behind the shooting.
