2 Fairfield Businesses Robbed On Same Street

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

FAIRFIELD (BCN) ― Fairfield police were investigating two separate armed robberies that occurred within three hours of each other at businesses on the same street Thursday night.

The first robbery was reported at about 7:50 p.m. at a Radio Shack store at 2445 N. Texas St., according to police.

A male suspect entered the store, approached the employee and ordered him to hand over the money from the cash register while displaying a handgun concealed in his waistband, police said.

The employee gave the money to the suspect, who then left the business, according to police.

The suspect is described as a black man who is between 30 and 40 years old and about 6 feet 1 inches tall with a thin build and gray facial hair, police said. He wore a gray and navy shirt with blue jeans and a brown hat.

The second robbery was reported at about 10:35 p.m. at the Yaguis Taqueria restaurant at 1661 N. Texas St., according to police.

The incident began when two men waited at the rear door of the business after it closed, and then confronted an employee as he exited, police said.

One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the employee and ordered him inside the business and to hand him the cash from the register while ordering another employee to remove the cash from her wallet, according to police.

Both employees gave the money to the suspects, who fled the business on foot and were last observed running west on Wisconsin Street, police said.

The suspect armed with the handgun was described as a Hispanic man who had short hair and was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, according to police.

The other suspect was described only as a black man wearing a white T-shirt that was partially pulled over his face, police said.

No one was injured in either incident. The robberies aren't believed to be related, according to police.

Anyone with information about either of the robberies is asked to call Fairfield police at (707) 428-7300 or Solano Crime Stoppers at (707) 644-STOP.
