Oakland Police Shoot Suspect After Chase

SAN LEANDRO (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ― An Oakland police officer shot and injured a suspect after a chase from Oakland to San Leandro on Saturday night, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Preliminary information indicated the chase began around 9:40 p.m. along Hegenberger Road in Oakland and ended about 11 p.m. in the 2100 block of Davis Street in San Leandro, where the suspect was shot by an officer, police said.
 
The incident remained under investigation. The suspect's condition and the identities of those involved were not immediately available.
