San Francisco police cracked down on unruly Halloween partiers, arresting 30 people for being drunk in public in the Castro District Friday night and early Saturday morning.
However, no other major incidents were reported in San Francisco overnight, according to SFPD Sgt. Neville Gittens.
There was less police activity in the city than past years because of the Home for Halloween campaign, which started in 2007 to curb increased violence and vandalism during the holiday.
City officials allowed no celebrations in the district and sent a large amount of law enforcement into the area. The area was closed to parking and no public toilets were rented.
The main event in the city Friday night was the San Francisco Halloween Festival, a free event in the Lot A parking area near AT&T Park. No alcohol was served at the festival and attendance was relatively small.
