3 Dead, 5 Hurt In Bay Area Weekend Shootings
OAKLAND (CBS 5 / BCN) ―
At least two people were killed and six others wounded in weekend shootings across the Bay Area.
In
Oakland, a person was shot to death early Sunday morning. Officers said they responded to the homicide around 12:10 a.m. in the 6800 block of MacArthur Blvd.
In
San Leandro, an Oakland police officer shot and injured one person after chasing the suspect into San Leandro late Saturday night. The chase began at Hegenberger Road in Oakland and ended with the shooting in the 2100 block of Davis Street in San Leandro about 11 p.m., according to Oakland police.
In
Berkeley, a shooting injured four people early Sunday morning. Police said the shooting was in the 1600 block of Russell Street around 1:30 a.m.
In
San Francisco, a man in his 20s he was shot while riding his motorcycle in the Bayview District Saturday night and died later at San Francisco General Hospital. The shooting happened about 7:20 p.m. at Bayshore Boulevard and Industrial Street when a gunman pulled up in a vehicle behind the motorcyclist and shot him. Police said the car then fled north on Bayshore.
In
East Palo Alto, police were trying to locate witnesses who may have seen a deadly shooting late Friday night. About 10:25 p.m., officers responding to a report of shots fired at Ursula Way and Farrington Way located John Leonard, a 20-year-old Milpitas resident, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Two men were seen fleeing the area in a light-colored vehicle.
