3 Teens Accused Of El Cerrito BART Path Robberies
EL CERRITO (BCN) ―
Police arrested three Richmond teenagers Tuesday in connection with a series of strong-arm robberies on the Bay Area Rapid Transit path in El Cerrito, El Cerrito police Detective Cpl. Susan Garman said Thursday.
Two 16-year-old boys and a 13-year-old girl were allegedly identified as the teens responsible for six robberies in a three-day period.
The first robbery was reported on Sept. 24 at about 2:40 p.m. on the BART path at Schmidt Lane. The second occurred about five minutes later two blocks away on the BART path at Moeser Lane, Garman said.
The group allegedly struck again at about 8:12 a.m. on Sept. 25 on the BART path at Fairmount Avenue.
The following day, on Sept. 26, the trio allegedly robbed two more people, one at 3 p.m. on the BART path at Schmidt Lane and the second at around 3:45 p.m. on the BART path just south of Moeser Lane, Garman said.
In each of the robberies the three teenagers allegedly grabbed property from the victims or pushed them and took property by force, Garman said.
They did not use any weapons during any of the alleged robberies and no injuries were reported.
The three suspects were arrested at about 8:30 a.m. in El Cerrito and taken to Juvenile Hall, Garman said.
