1 Arrested, 3 Escape In Fairfield Police Chase
FAIRFIELD (BCN) ―
Fairfield police arrested one man and are looking for three other occupants who ran from a vehicle after a pursuit Thursday afternoon.
The pursuit began when an officer saw a brown 2009 Nissan Murano speeding on Air Base Parkway near N. Texas Street at 3:30 p.m., Cpl. Kathryn Scarrott said.
The officer tried to stop the Nissan but it sped down the right shoulder onto Dover Avenue. The Nissan stopped abruptly and the four occupants of the vehicle tried to flee, Scarrott said.
The officer drew his gun and ordered the occupants back into the vehicle but the right front passenger fled east through the Parkway Gardens apartment complex, Scarrott said.
The driver continued driving south on Dover Avenue and tried to drive onto the lawn of Parkway Gardens and between two buildings, Scarrott said. The three other occupants of the Nissan fled when the car struck one of the buildings. One of them had a gun, Scarrott said.
Police found 21-year-old Antoine Wroten of Fairfield and arrested him for resisting an officer and violating his probation.
Deshun Parish, 20, of Richmond, was identified as the man with the gun. He is wanted for possession of a firearm and is considered armed and dangerous, Scarrott said.
Police were still investigating the identities of the two other occupants of the Nissan.
