99 Cents Only Stores May Increase Prices

SAN LEANDRO (CBS 5) ― It may be the end of an era of American retail. Long after most dollar stores died out or raised their prices, the 99 Cents Only chain is sticking to its prices, but maybe not for long.

After 26 years in business in California and Texas, the chain is signaling that prices may finally have to rise. Store manager Mark SmallĀ told CBS 5 thatĀ in today's economy, prices for everything else have risen so much, the store can't offer the selection it wants and still stick to their prices.
