Members of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Bay Area Affiliate will be presented the proclamation designating November as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month by Mayor Chuck Reed. Pancreatic Cancer is the deadliest cancer killing 75% of patients within 12 months of being diagnosed. The 5 year survival rate is LESS than 5%. There are no early detection tools and no effective treatments. Pancreatic cancer is the most under-funded, under-recognized, and least studied of all major cancer killers.
