Site Helps Job Seekers Compete For Work Projects

The number of U.S. workers collecting unemployment benefits hit the highest level in 25 years in October. But a new service helps people looking for work compete for $5 million in work projects up for grabs.
Elance is an online job auction site, where job seekers compete for projects by showcasing their skills, and offering the lowest price. For a $10 monthly membership, users post resumes and can bid on work projects, from marketing to programming to design.
