Report: Cutting Greenhouse Gases Good For Business

SACRAMENTO (AP) ― California air regulators say efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the next 12 years ultimately will benefit the state's economy and save its residents money.
 
An analysis released Wednesday by the Air Resources Board says California's economy will grow at a faster rate than if the state did nothing to cut the emissions that have been blamed for contributing to global warming.

The report offers the most authoritative projection of how the state's 2006 greenhouse gas law will affect businesses and residents.

It also contradicts claims by business groups and some Republican lawmakers that global warming regulations will cost the state billions of dollars and send jobs out of state.
