Anchors
San Francisco native Ken Bastida is the co-anchor for CBS 5 Eyewitness News at 6,and 11pm. And at 10pm on The CW 44/Cable 12. Ken has been with the station since 1990, serving as the Bureau Chief for the Contra Costa newsroom. Prior to his arrival at CBS 5, Bastida had an illustrious Bay Area radio career which began in 1978. He has worked at KFRC, KGO, KMEL, K101, KFYI and KCBS radio.
Bastida is the recipient of the 2007 APTRA Award for "Best News Broadcast – 30 Minutes." He is also the recipient of the 2007 Emmy Award for Best Evening Newscast- Large Market with CBS 5's 5pm Newscast. During his tenure at CBS 5 he has garnered 8 Emmy nominations including the 2004 Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in "continuing coverage" for his series, "Inside The Middle East."
In his more than 25 years on local radio and television, Bastida has been the recipient of honors from the AP, UPI, RTNDA and Peninsula Press Club, for his work covering everything from investigative reporting to live sports anchoring.
Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Communication from San Francisco State University.
